The recently unveiled Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is capable of delivering 22 mpg, as the car manufacturer has recently announced.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is a good alternative to a supercar, considering its impressive performance and its price list, but if you were wondering how much fuel it can eat, you now have the official response. At full power, the muscle car can empty the 18.5 gallon fuel tank in just 13 minutes but in an everyday driving mode, it is capable of returning 22 mpg with the 8-speed automatic and 21 mpg with the 6-speed manual transmission.
“The new 2015 Dodge Challenger is the perfect street / strip muscle car. As the fastest muscle car ever, the Challenger Hellcat can run 10-second ETs at the track, and then get 22 miles per gallon on the drive home. With a starting price of $59,995, there’s nothing else that even comes close”, said the president and CEO of the Dodge and SRT brands, Tim Kuniskis.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will be produced in just 1,200 units and each one will cost almost 60,000 USD. Power to the muscle car is being provided by a 6.2 liter V8 engine, rated at 707 HP (527 kW) and 880 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque, enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint made in less than 4 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph).
