The chip tuning experts over at DTE Systems are back with a tuning mode specifically developed for the compact Audi RS3 Sportback rocket.
The RS3 Sportback iin its latest iteration has been released into the wild less than a year ago and billed as a “world-beating car” with a “class-conquering engine,” though the tuning wizards at DTE must have thought there could be more than one client that would dare to challenge these statements. The “regular” RS3 is no slouch indeed though, using the five-cylinder turbocharged 2.5-liter engine to unleash 367 PS & 465 Nm, which is good for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint of 4.3 seconds and a maximum speed (electronically limited)155 mph (250 km/h) – or 174 mph (280 km/h) upon request.
But DTE Systems has decided that’s currently not enough and came up with its chip tuning wizardry to deliver even more grunt. All things said and done another 43 PS (32 kW) and 92 Nm (68 lb-ft) were cooked and now the total stands at 410 PS (301 kW) and 557 Nm (411 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the power increase the tuned Audi RS3 Sportback is 1.1 seconds quicker when doing the 62 – 99 mph (100 – 160 km/h) sprint. DTE used its proprietary PowerControl SNT module to tap into the central sensors of the engine management system and also to control the turbo pressure and intake manifold. DTE also offers the system for the Audi RS Q3, RS6 & RS7, S4 & S5 as well as the Porsche Macan S & Turbo, Cayenne S & GTS, and the Panamera S.
