This is the Green Day front man we’re talking about, just in case you left your music references at home – and this classic Ford is entirely desirable on its own even without the celebrity signature.
Since the classic American car market is pretty much filled with interesting choices, you might be forgiven for overlooking the 1949-1951 “Shoebox Ford” – since pretty much everyone loves the Chevrolet Bel Air more – especially for the better design. While the latter remained more iconic throughout history, the fact remains that Ford’s nameplate was better selling by almost 10 percent in 1951. It may have been forgotten and overlooked, but the Ford is still a classic – and the celebrity tie-up might just sweeten the deal even more. It has been previously owned by Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, and now this 1949 Ford is up for grabs on eBay with the ‘Buy It Now’ sticker of $19,900.
The ride has 77,238 miles on the odometer, as well as a letter of authenticity proving it was owned and maintained by Billie Joe himself. The original Ford V8, mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and a brand-new powertrain are also there along for the ride. There are bits and pieces in need of some restoration, but the seller contends this was a daily driven vehicle for Armstrong, and even appeared in a Green Day music video.
