The green rumor mill has gone nuts and won’t be back in its senses until that date arrives – after Tesla CEO and co-founder Elon musk took to Twitter to announce the impending reveal of a new product on October 17.
The California-based automaker could deliver a number of surprises when the day arrives – with the single most important ideas being the arrival of the completed Model 3 or the introduction of the second generation Autopilot driverless system. On the other hand, businessmen might also be interested in what the company has to say on October 28, when a joint Tesla and Solar City announcement has been scheduled. Since we’re dealing with a tweet, the Musk tease was very light on details. But the rumor mill is inclined towards those two major possibilities – and doesn’t seem to think the commotion will be for a less important novelty.
If the Autopilto 2.0 arrives it would allegedly feature three front-facing cameras now, and could also be offered as a retrofit upgrade for existing vehicles. The company could also reveal additional details about their still unfinished Model 3 prototype – which was expected to make an appearance at the Paris Motor Show, but never materialized, as the company elected to keep it a secret for now.
