Essen Motor Show: Ford of Europe tweaks the Focus to deliver the Sport guise image

The American automaker’s European unit has decided to officially introduce the all new Focus Sport version during the Essen Motor Show taking place these days in Germany.

The new Focus Sport guise will be slotted underneath the ST, with the sporty version coming with two special color schemes. They actually mirror the already on sale Fiesta Red and Black special series, with the Focus Sport equally available in Race Red or Panther Black – each paint scheme comes with contrasting black or red painted roof, diffuser, radiator grille bar, as well as side mirror caps. The design changes have been rounded off with a nice set of blacked-out 18-inch alloy rims. Inside the compact hatchback we can see the cabin has been treated to mirror the exterior and we have a black-red gearbox switch, steering wheel, sports seats, and handbrake – as well as aluminum pedals. The automaker also decided to reach out to the tuning-prone assistance at Essen with a modified S-MAX van that has been treated to a sports package, including amenities such as a new roof spoiler and 19-inch alloy rims.

The Ford Focus Sport will be on sale at home in Germany following the Essen Motor Show and will use the 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbocharged gasoline powerplant. The engine has two power levels: 150 HP (110 kW) and 182 HP (134 kW) and just like in the case of the Focus ST, diesel fans will also get their own option – the 2.0-liter TDCi mill churning out in this case 150 HP (110 kW). The base model, with the 1.5 EcoBoost 150 HP under the hood, will be offered starting at 24,960 euros.
