EU Commercial Vehicle Sales Down 9.4% in October image

In the EU sales of new commercial vehicles dropped 9.4% in October to 147, 211 units.

All major market saw a decrease last month, as sales in Germany fell 3.8%, 8.6% in the UK, 9.8% in France, 20.4% in Spain and 16.4 in Italy. Auto sales during the first ten months of the year also saw a contraction of 10.6% in the EU, with the UK down 3.6%, France 25.2%, Germany 8%, Italy 33% and Spain 25.2%.

New van sales last month reached 118,723 units, or a drop of 9.7% compared with the same period last year. Germany’s van sales were down 3.5%, France 9.5%, the UK 3.5%, Spain 24.3% and Italy 16%. During the first ten months of the year 1,159,579 new vans were sold in the EU, a drop of 11.5%. Germany saw a decline of 2.9%, France 8.2%, the UK 6.5%, Italy 33.4% and Spain 25.7%.

Last month in the EU were sold 20,294 new heavy trucks, a drop of 5.6%, with Spain down 2.8%, France 5%, Germany 4.1%, the UK 9.7% and Italy 19.6%. From January to October the UK was the only one to reach an increase of 3.8%, while Germany fell 6.5%, Spain 18.3%, France 7% and Italy 28.8%. Sales of trucks dropped 5.3% to 26,354 units, with Spain down 2.6%, France 3.6%, Germany 4.3%, the UK 6.2% and Italy 20.1%.
