One of the hottest vehicles made by the South Korean manufacturer, the Hyundai Veloster, managed to surprise a lot of people after it scored a five star rating at the latest Euro NCAP testing.
According to the Euro NCAP specialists, the adult occupant protection was the highest of all the vehicles and the innovative 1+2 coupe can guard in case of a rear impact too. The 18 month old infant and 3 year old child protection was also good and the Veloster scored 89 percent.
“Clear indormation is provided to the driver regarding the status of the airbag and the system was rewarded. Clear information is provided regarding the dangers of using a rearward facing child restraint in that seat without first disabling the airbag”, as Euro NCAP says.
Pedestrians are also well protected by the Veloster and the coupe scored a good or marginal rating and even if that doesn’t sound too much, Hyundai apparently did its best in making the edges as soft as possible.
The standard seatbelt reminder and Electronic Stability Control offered by Hyundai got a safety plus for the Veloster.
