Euro NCAP: Mercedes-Benz C-Class gets 5-star safety rating

The new generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been recently tested out by Euro NCAP and the popular sedan has achieved a total of 5 stars.

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is one safe ride after it managed to obtain a total of 5 stars after being crash tested by Euro NCAP. The model in question obtained a total of 92 percent in Adult Occupant protection, 84 percent in Child Occupant protection, 77 percent in Pedestrian safety and 70 percent in the Safety Assist category. The side pole impact test, along with the rear whiplash protection, were the weakest points of the car, as injuries to the torso and the neck were rated as “marginal”.

In the Child Occupant protection, the C-Class obtained a total of 20.6 points while the Child Safety features brought it another 9.0 points. In the Pedestrian safety category, the car scored 28 points. The Safety Assist category brought it 9 points thanks to the ESC, the seatbelt reminder, the lane support systems and some other safety features. The tested vehicle was a C-Class C220 Avantgarde four-door sedan, weighing in at 1,570 kg. You can see how it performed in the crash testes in the videos posted below.
