The Renault Captur and the Chevrolet Trax have received a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, after the latest crash tests.
Good news for those of you looking into the brand new Renault Captur crossover because the model has just received a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP. The Renault Captur is offering an 88 percent in adult occupant protection, with the biggest problems being a “marginal” protection of the neck in the rear impact test. Child occupant protection stands at 79 percent and pedestrian safety is 61 percent. In the safety assist, the Renault Captur has received a total of 81 percent. The tested model was a Captur 1.0 Trendy LHD.
Besides the Captur, Euro NCAP has also tested the competition, the Chevrolet Trax, which also managed to achieve a maximum 5-star safety rating. The Trax stands way better than the Captur in every domain and it has received 94 percent in adult occupant protection, 85 percent in child occupant protection, 64 percent in pedestrian safety while in the safety assist category, the model has scored 81 percent. The Chevrolet Trax tested was a 1.7 diesel LT, LHD. There you have it, if you want a new B-segment crossover but you’re concerned in safety, the Trax is what you’re looking for.
