The new Renault Espace and Suzuki Vitara have proved to be two safe rides as both of them have managed to score a total of 5 stars with Euro NCAP.
The brand new Renault Espace has obtained a maximum 5-star safety rating. The car has done 82 percent in Adult Occupant, 89 percent in Child Occupant, 70 percent in Pedestrian and 80 percent in the Safety Assist. The main problems were spotted in the front offset deformable barrier where the driver has scored and “adequate” rating in the torso and the passenger seen “marginal” and “adequate” description in the legs. The frontal full width has scored the passenger’s torso with “adequate” too and in the side pole impact, the torso has scored “marginal”. This was the description used in the rear seat whiplash rear impact too, in the neck. The tested model was a Renault Espace 5-door MPV.
The new Suzuki Vitara has also been tested by Euro NCAP and this has obtained a maximum 5-star safety rating too. It has scored 89 percent in Adult Occupant, 85 percent in Child Occupant, 76 percent in Pedestrian and 75 percent in Safety Assist. “Adequate” was the word of the day when describing the torso and the right leg of the driver in the frontal offset deformable barrier and the driver’s and passenger’s torsos, in the frontal full width. The rest of the tests had seen a “good” rating. The tested car was a Suzuki Vitara 1.6 GL+ 5-door.
