The new generation of the Renault Clio was awarded with a 5-star safety rating during the latest EuroNCAP crash tests.
The 2013 Renault Clio has scored an impressive 99 percent in Safety Assist but adult protection was awarded with an 88 percent rating, while the children protection was awarded with an 89 percent rating. If you’re a pedestrian and you see the new Clio generation on the street simply run, run and don’t look behind because the French hatch was awarded with 66 percent in this “chapter”.
The rear impact crash test was almost a disaster for the new Clio and the level of protection offered was low in this test. In the side pole crash, the model was named “weak” and in the front crash test “adequate” was the name used when describing the legs and chest protection for the driver and front passenger.
As a quick reminder, the 2013 Renault Clio was officially unveiled a couple of months ago and the model is getting features like the keyless access, rearview camera, Renault Bass Reflex System, Renault R-Link multimedia with touch screen, gear change indicator, ECO mode (reduces fuel consumption by up to 10 percent), Driving eco2 application for the R-Link tablet, double-clutch six-speed EDC transmission and much more. The new Clio is 3.5 cm longer, 4.5 cm lower and 2.4 cm wider than its predecessor. More details on the model here.
