At the company’s Craiova production facility in Romania, Ford just reached a new milestone, producing its 100,000th B-Max small MPV.
The landmark vehicle, a Panther Black Titanium model equipped with a Craiova-built 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine, is destined for a customer in Romania. Ford sold 67,000 B-Max models in 2013. Advanced technologies are a key factor in B-Max’s success, with more than 80 % of European customers specifying the Ford SYNC voice-activated, in-car connectivity system.
“This is a great milestone for both our brand and also for our Ford Craiova team,” said Vic Startek, General Manager Vehicle Operations, Ford Romania. “We’re very proud to build such an ingenious and smart vehicle as the B-MAX and to have reached the 100,000th built target in just 18 months since we first launched the multi activity vehicle.”
The B-Max features the Ford Easy Access Door System that provides easy access for passengers and luggage through hinged front doors and sliding rear doors – with integrated pillars. B-Max also offers the industry-first Ford MyKey technology, which enables parents to place restrictions on younger drivers to promote safety.
The Ford SYNC voice-activated, in-car connectivity system also features the Euro NCAP Advanced Award-winning Emergency Assistance feature that can alert local emergency services operators to an accident in 26 languages, spoken in 40 European regions. The model also was awarded a maximum five-star rating from independent crash test authority Euro NCAP.
