“European Car of the Year” finalists announced image

The “2013 European Car of the Year” finalists have been recently announced by the jury which will vote the winner next spring.

Tough competition in the “2013 European Car of the Year” award and the newest models are in a constant battle with each other. All eyes are currently looking at the brand new Toyota GT 86 and to its brother, the Subaru BRZ, which managed to win the “Car of the Year” award in several markets across the Old Continent. But the Japanese sports car has some serious competition coming from German, South Korean, French, American and Swedish bases automakers.

Hyundai i30
Mercedes-Benz A-Class
Peugeot 208
Renault Clio
Subaru BRZ / Toyota GT 86
Volkswagen Golf
Volvo V40

The previous winner of the prestigious award was the Opel / Vauxhall Ampera (Chevrolet Volt) which managed to impress the judges, despite the strong competition from the third generation of the Ford Focus or the Volkswagen Up! and its Skoda and Seat brothers. The winner of the 2013 European Car of the Year will be announced on the 4th of March, 2013.
