The Czech based automaker Skoda has released new sketches with the upcoming Rapid model, which will hit the Old Continent later this year.
The Skoda Rapid has been already teased and spied a couple of times in Europe, but the car manufacturer has decided that time has come for the new model to be placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the help of some official sketches which are revealing what we already knew: how the final production version of the Rapid will look like on the Old Continent. The Skoda Rapid will be unveiled in Europe this summer, before it will finally go on sale by the end of 2012.
As a quick reminder, the Skoda Rapid has been previewed by the MissionL concept during the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and the model is already available in India, where it’s also being assembled. Production of the Skoda Rapid will start in China and Russia too, and this will become a global vehicle, once it will be launched in Europe too. The Skoda Rapid will be slotted between the Fabia and the Octavia and it’s expected to get the 1.2 liter TSI engine from VW, in two outputs, 85 HP and 105 HP, along with the 1.4 TSI with 122 HP, the 1.6 TSI with 105 HP and the 2.0 TDI with 140 HP.
