EXCLUSIVE – Bologna LIVE: Lancia Thema revealed

The European version of the new Chrysler 300, Lancia Thema, has been officially presented at the 36th edition of the Bologna Motor Show.

After Chrysler ended up being owned by Fiat, one of the most interesting models to hit the market lately is definitely the new Lancia Thema, and even if the Italians didn’t actually do anything with this car, except changing the logos on it, the model has been named “Thema”, which will play a major role in selling it. The Lancia Thema is the most luxurious model ever sold by Lancia, and the most expensive one, and it comes with “American dimensions” along with “Italian luxury”, with the automaker slightly modifying the interior in order to take it closer to European looks.

The Lancia Thema is being offered with a choice of three engines, the 3.6 liter V6 and the 3.0 liter turbodiesel V6 in two levels. Lancia says that the 3.6 liter V6 engine is developing a total output of 286 horsepower and enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, hitting a top speed of 240 km/h with an average fuel consumption of 9.4 liter / 100 km. The 190 HP version of the 3.0 liter V6 is also the most economical one, with an average fuel consumption of 7.1 liters / 100 km, allowing the car to accelerate from 10 to 100 km/h in 10.1 seconds, with a top speed of 232 km/h. The same engine is also being offered with 239 HP, which has the same fuel consumption as the 190 HP version, but the Thema can now accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9 seconds.
