The new generation of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray will make its way onto the European market as an official within the company has recently told us.
Chevy is planning to offer the new Corvette Stingray generation for sale in several markets across the Old Continent, where the model will arrive for the 2014 model year. according to the car manufacturer, the new Corvette Stingray will get some cosmetic changes for Europe but Chevy isn’t considering a new smaller engine for the moment. As for right-hand drive versions of the new Corvette, the carmaker has no plans to develop them but if you live in the UK, you will be able to order the sports car in left-hand drive.
“The 2014 Corvette Stingray will be offered in Europe. It will be available only in left hand drive (we will offer some left-hand-drive Corvettes for the United Kingdom)”, as an official within the company told us. For changes for Europe, they will all be minor cosmetic changes, there are no plans to offer a smaller engine at this time.”
As a quick reminder, the new generation of the Chevrolet Corvette has made its public debut during the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The sports car is coming LT1 6.2 liter V8 engine under its hood, generating 450 BHP (336 kW) and 609 Nm of torque (450 lb-ft). The model can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds and it can return 26+ mpg on the highway. More details on it will be announced close to its launch.
