The upcoming Bentley Bentayga SUV will be the first model produced by the brand to carry a diesel engine.
The Bentley Bentayga will be opening a new path for the car manufacturer and this will be the first SUV ever to be produced with the Bentley’s logos on its body. This won’t be the only premiere as the Bentayga will also be the company’s first ever diesel-powered vehicle. The announcement has been made by a representative within the brand who has recently spoken to inautonews.com.
“I can confirm that the Bentayga will be Bentley’s first model to use a diesel engine”, said the Bentley official.
We are not sure exactly, at this time, what engine will be improving the fuel consumption of the luxury SUV but rumor has it that this will be the 4.2 liter TDI V8, which is offered in the Audi A8. The engine should produce more than 380 HP and, besides this, the vehicle will also use a couple of petrol burners, a range-topping W12 and a smaller unit, which will probably be a V8, offered as an entry-level. The lineup will not stop here because chances are we will see a hybrid variant too. The Bentley Bentayga is believed to arrive on the market sometimes next year and it should increase the carmaker’s annual sales to 20,000 units by the end of the decade. The Bentayga will rival the upcoming Rolls-Royce SUV, the Lamborghini SUV and the BMW X7.
