The BMW M4 Iconic Lights Concept will not be presented to the public at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show because the insufficient display space at the event.
BMW has taken a step forward with its Iconic Lights Concept of the M4 Coupe and after being officially presented to the public in Las Vegas, at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show, in a world premiere, earlier this month, we assumed that it will be brought to the 2015 Geneva Motor Show too, for a European premiere, but that will not happen.
“The lights may make an appearance but they require a large theatre style display to promote and this may be too much for Geneva Motor Show space”, as a company representative told inautonews.com.
When asked whether these lights will be added to a future production model, the answer was: “Yes these lights will appear in a production model within the next two years. Unfortunately I can’t say what at present it is some time off.”
The Dynamic Light Spot, laser based, is capable of warning drivers for up to 100 meters of the presence of people or animals at night times. The new intelligent lighting functions is working together with the navigation system in order to illuminate corners in advance. Besides the revolutionary headlights, BMW has also fitted the M4 display car with OLED taillights, 1.4 mm thick, producing light from water thin semiconducting layers of organic material. Judging by the statement mentioned above, expect them on a production model by 2017.
