The North American based automaker Chevrolet will be putting the new generation of the Niva into production in 2016, as the inautonews.com team has found out.
Introduced as a concept car just a few weeks ago, during the 2014 Moscow Motor Show, the brand new Chevrolet Niva is being highlighted once more. According to a company’s representative, who was contacted by inautonews.com, the model, in its production version, will be introduced in 2016 and it will come with a lot of elements from the one-off vehicle.
“The new generation Niva should hit the roads in 2016 and will get many elements from the concept, that was introduced on Moscow Motor Show”, said our source.
The Chevrolet Niva Concept is getting a raised suspension system, BF Goodrich off-road tires, auxiliary lights, a roof rack, a snorkel and an overall rugged exterior look, which should appeal to off-road fanatics. The cabin of the model has received new gauges and some metallic trim while power is being provided by a 1.8 liter engine, connected to the all-wheel drive through a 5-speed transmission and a locking differential. More details on the model remain unknown for the moment.
