Chevrolet has officially confirmed the world debut of the new Volt generation at the 2015 NAIAS, in Detroit, later on this month.
After being previewed during the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas recently, the Chevrolet Volt is getting ready to be introduced at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), in Detroit, which will be opening its gates for the public next week. The debut of the new “green” Volt has been made to the inautonews.com team by a company’s representative.
“The new Volt will be shown in Detroit at North American International Auto Show”, said the Chevrolet official when contacted by the inautonews.com team.
The new Chevrolet Volt will be coming with a redesigned front fascia, with a more modern look for the LED daytime running lights, new upper and lower grills, a slightly sloped roofline which will not affect the rear headroom, improved acceleration, better steering and several other tweaks which should make the model more desirable than its predecessor.
The battery pack is said to have been created in collaboration with LG Chem and this can now store 20 percent more energy, being 13 kg lighter. The new generation of the Volt will also get a new two-motor drive, 45 kg lighter than its predecessor, along with a 1.5 liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. More details on the vehicle are limited at this time and will be announced next week, during the Detroit automotive event.
