If you were anxious on the brand new Nissan X-Trail Hybrid, forget about it, because this will only be offered in Japan.
If you happen to have seen the introduction of the new Nissan X-Trail Hybrid on its local market and you were interested in buying it on the Old Continent too, you should probably turn towards another model because the company has no plans of offering it in Europe. The announcement has been made by an official within the company who was contacted by inautonews.com. According to our source, the “green” SUV will remain exclusive to Japan.
“Hybrid is not coming to Europe at this time – only to Japan”, said the Nissan official.
The new Nissan X-Trail Hybrid has a familiar design and it is looking identical to the regular version, except for the “pure drive hybrid” badges, to the two instrument gauges in the central display and to the vertical LED fog lights. The vehicle is benefiting from the Forward Emergency Braking system, regenerative braking system and low-rolling resistance tires. It is coming with a 2.0L four-cylinder unit rated at 147 HP (108 kW) and 207 Nm (153 lb-ft) of torque and with an electric motor providing an extra 41 HP (30 kW) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque. The model is “eating” an average of 4.8L / 100km of fuel and it is offered in the 2WD version for the equivalent of 23,400 USD, while the 4WD Black Xtreamer-X guise has been priced at the equivalent of 27,000 USD.
