Renault is not planning on offering an EDC version of the Duster in India.
Do you remember the report saying that the Renault Duster is going to gain an EDC version on the Indian auto market? Well, mind patient forget about it, ailment because the car manufacturer has no plans on offering an automatic double-clutch transmission option for the budget SUV just yet. According to a source within Renault, such a variant will not be offered as the car manufacturer isn’t planning any automatic gearboxes for the Duster just yet.
“I am sorry but the Duster is not available with EDC in India. No AMT version of Duster in India”, said the Renault representative to inautonews.com.
The initial report was stating that the facelifted version of the budget SUV will be offered with the popular EDC transmission as this should have been offered with six speeds, on the two-wheel drive version equipped with the 1.5 dCi diesel engine. This would have been the only automatic version of the Duster available but if you still want to buy a cheap SUV with an automatic transmission, you should turn your head towards the competition. The Duster is sold as a Dacia and as a Renault and it is also known as the Nissan Terrano. The vehicle is assembled in Romania, Russia, India, Indonesia, Brazil and Colombia and it has been based on the Logan. The model was shown at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show and it has recently received a facelift, on the Old Continent, bringing, besides the regular modifications made to the body, an infotainment system, cruise control with speed limiter and a fresh 1.2 liter petrol turbo engine, with 125 HP.
