The recently unveiled Opel Corsa OPC will only be offered in a 3-door body style as not other versions of the supermini are planned.
Opel will play safe in the development of the new Corsa OPC as the model in question will remain a 3-door. The sub-compact hot hatch will not give birth to other body styles so don’t expect it to pop up in a 5-door hatchback, a wagon or a sedan.
“The Corsa OPC as you see is our second major news in Geneva. It will be available as a 3 door hatchback only and there is no plan for a 5 door with that high level of performance”, said an Opel representative who was contacted by inautonews.com.
As you probably already know by now, the public debut of the new Opel Corsa OPC will be made in early March, at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle has received an aggressive body kit, large side skirts, a trunk lid spoiler, subtle scoop on the hood, 17-inch alloy wheels, Recaro sport seats, IntelliLink infotainment system and several other goodies.
The engine used on it is a 1.6 liter four-cylinder turbocharged EcoTec, which is producing a total of 207 HP (152 kW) and 280 Nm (206 lb-ft). Power is sent to the front wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the model needs 6.8 seconds and it can achieve a top speed of 230 km/h (143 mph). More details on it will be announced during the Swiss automotive event.
