Facelifted Audi Q3 could arrive to the U.S. image

Audi may introduce the Q3 to the United States once the crossover will receive a facelift, over the following years.

The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet but according to a recent report, published by the guys at Car and Driver, the German based automaker could pull a surprise on everyone and introduce the updated Q3 to the United States. The model in question is believed to receive a facelift probably in a year or two after being unveiled and, if everything goes as planned, it will arrive in the U.S. The Audi Q3 will be classified as a “light truck” after several modifications and this means that it will meet the light truck regulations.

The engine lineup, which will be found on the American Audi Q3, is believed to be carried over from its European version and it will include the 170 HP (125 kW) and 211 HP (155 kW) 2.0 liter TFSI or even the 2.5 liter five-cylinder unit, from the RS Q3, which is good for 310 HP (228 kW) and 420 Nm of torque (310 lb-ft). The Audi Q3 will battle the Mercedes-Benz GLA and the BMW X1. More details on the Audi Q3 aimed towards the U.S. are limited for the moment.
