The facelifted version of the Chevrolet SS has been officially unveiled and it will be offered for sale soon.
Chevrolet has performed a facelift for its performance sedan, the SS, as this is now getting the new LED signature lighting in the front fascia, functional hood vents, vertical ducts directing airflow to the front wheel openings improving aerodynamic efficiency and a fresh set of 19-inch cast-aluminum wheels.
“The 2016 SS design changes more fully express the true driving character of the sedan while further enhancing the car’s overall performance,” said Todd Christensen, Chevrolet Performance Car marketing manager.
The 2016 Chevrolet SS is also bringing a dual-mode exhaust system and it is taking its power from a 6.2 liter V8 engine, which is capable of putting down a total output of 415 HP (310 kW) and a peak torque of 563 Nm (415 lb-ft), connected to either a six-speed manual or to a six-speed automatic transmission, with paddle shifters.
Despite being officially unveiled, Chevrolet didn’t have much to say about the facelifted version of the performance sedan. However, we tend to believe that this will be offered for sale this fall but details on its pricing remain unknown at this point. Chances are Chevrolet will release more info on the 2016 SS over the next few weeks but in the meantime you can check it out in the small photo gallery posted below.
