The facelifted version of the Ford Ranger will be making its European debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, in just a few days.
After we have seen it in some Asian markets earlier this year, time has come for the Old Continent to receive the updated version of the Ford Ranger. The popular pickup truck will get a 230 mm ground clearance, a 25-degree departure angle, a 28-degree approach angle and it will be able to drive through water up to 800 mm deep. The carmaker says that the vehicle is getting a four-wheel drive system with low-range four-wheel drive gearing, along with an electronic locking rear differential which will be improving its traction in difficult conditions.
The German automotive event will get the model in the range-topping Wildtrak grade which is getting a different exterior design, a unique interior trim and the Pride Orange color. This version is also coming with the grey accents on the side mirrors, door handles, side air vents, taillights and load-bed rails, along with the trapezoidal grille. It will also come with the 18-inch alloy wheels, the Wildtrak graphics, unique sports hoop, rectangular fog lights, unique seats with orange accents, dual color digital displays for the instrument cluster and the 8-inch touch screen.
The 2016 Ford Range will be taking its power from the 2.2 liter TDCi diesel engine, available with 129 HP or with 158 HP, while the 3.2 liter TDCi will bring 197 HP. Both units will be connected to a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission and customers can select between the two-wheel drive and the four-wheel drive. The Wildtrak versions will get the 4WD in standard.
