The South Korean media has revealed the first images with the facelifted version of the Kia Picanto.
The updated Kia Picanto is close to hitting the showrooms and this will happen most likely this spring. The first images with the model have been revealed by the South Korean media and they are revealing both the exterior and the interior design of the model. This has been revised and it has received the new front and rear bumpers, the new front grille with the company’s Tiger Nose design, the new alloy wheels and several other tweaks which will put some distance between it and the already available version.
The interior design of the model has been updated too and it has received new materials but the overall looks doesn’t seem that different. We expect some new infotainment systems and a DAB radio similar to the one shown on the facelifted Venga and Rio. Keep in mind that this is a simple mid-life cycle facelift which should make the car more competitive with the Renault Twingo and the Hyundai i10.
As far as the engine lineup goes, the Korean specification of the model will get a 1.0 liter and a 1.2 liter naturally aspirated powerplants. These will be joined by a new 1.0 liter turbocharged engine, which is expected to produce approximately 100 HP. The facelifted Picanto should arrive in European dealers in the second quarter of 2015 and it will be officially presented to the public during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Pricing and details will be announced probably at the automotive event.
