Facelifted Kia Sorento announced for Malaysian launch

The South Korean based automaker Kia has recently announced its plans to introduce the facelifted Sorento to Malaysia this weekend, on the 16-17th of March, 2013.

After it was caught testing on public roads several times until now, the facelifted version of the Kia Sorento is now being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the carmaker announcing its official launch in Malaysia this weekend. According to the car manufacturer, the facelifted Kia Sorento may look familiar with its updated front fascia and rear end, but the thing is that a new platform has been used on its development.

Kia says that the Sorento facelift is now sharing the same platform with the new generation of the Hyundai Santa Fe (ix45) and this is translated into an improve ride, improved handling and refinement. The updated Kia Sorento is coming with LED daytime running lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, 4.3-inch LCD touch screen, rearview camera, audio system, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, third row vents, push start button, smart key, leather, AUX, USB, Bluetooth and more. Power to the model in Malaysia will be provided by a 2.4 liter Theta II petrol engine, which is good for 176 PS and 227 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission sending power to the AWD system. Prices for the model will start at RM158,888.
