The current generation M-Class SUV was unveiled back in 2011 and Mercedes-Benz is preparing for a mid life cycle refresh. Our spy photographers have caught the sporty ML 63 AMG for the first time in the wild.
While many automakers are spook freaks and opt on camouflaging their entire car for a headlight change, Mercedes-Benz has opted for a relaxed attitude on this instance – only disguising the very sensible areas.
So, while the changes coming are as big as the ones that affected the E Class, the car caught undergoing some handling tests in the south of Europe was only camouflaged at the front.
So far as changes are concerned, we expect major design changes for a mid-life refresh, with a completely new grille and changes to the headlights and daylight running lights. Also, the lines on the side of the car are completely new and different, while the taillights, completely visible, look unchanged.
On the other hand, the powertrain on the ML 63 AMG is not expected to undergo any changes, bringing the same well-known turbocharged 5.5-litre V8 developing 557 hp.
