This is car collecting meeting move fandom – the V8 sports car was quickly seen in the long running blockbuster franchise – which is gearing now for its eighth installment.
It’s your moment to blend car loving with movie memorabilia collecting – given you have the necessary cash, of course. This open top play thing – called the Lucra LC470 – was first seen in the 2013 movie Fast and Furious 6 and can now be called an eBay “find” – at the rather steep price of $63,500. Picture Car Coordinator Dennis McCarthy actually hand-picked the vehicle for Tej Parker (aka Ludacris), and intended the model to have a starring role, with three units commissioned for the film – but as it happens often in blockbusters things changed along the way and the Lucra never had the spotlight, instead used in some minor cameo appearances.
This unit holds the special VIN number “Fast 6 1,” and it was specifically designed by Lucra engineers in California for the movie shoot that was occurring on the streets of London. The front was made out of fiberglass instead of carbon fiber to ensure a higher weight and comply with UK safety standards. Under the hood resides a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 crate engine, with a 3-speed automatic transmission needed for the stunt work. The car was then re-registered in Texas with specialty VIN number TEX114241, and only holds 1,482 miles on the odometer.
