Sad day today for the Fast & Furious movie fans and not only. Paul Walker was killed in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT sports car driven by one of his friends in north of Los Angeles (Santa Clarita). Walker was 40. His friend died too.
On his official Twitter page is stated “It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide.”
According to the local police, looks like speed was an important factor in the fatal crash. The 2005 Porsche crashed into a light pole and tree and burst into flames shortly after.
“All of us at Universal are heartbroken. Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the Fast and Furious films, and to countless fans. We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul’s family.” a representative from the Universal Pictures said.
Walker’s “Fast and Furious” co-star Vin Diesel written on his Twitter page: “Brother, I will miss you very much. Heaven has gained a new angel. Rest in peace xxx”.
Film director Roland Emmerich on his Twiter: “Extremely saddened to hear of Paul Walker’s passing.
According to some local media reports, the driver was Roger Rodas, CEO of Always Evolving – a company from Valencia – CA – a car customization shop.
