Wherever there will be exotic cars, there will also be exotic car crashes which will eventually get caught on cameras and sent to us, only to be presented as ridiculous actions made by their ridiculous drivers, which is exactly what happened here in this case, where one of the hottest supercars of the moment, a Ferrari 458 Italia, was crashed in Edinburgh, Scotland, in what seems to be a total loss.
According to Police reports, the man who was driving the expensive Italian supercar was doing three times the local speed limit, which is 30 mph or 48 km/h, when apparently something happened which made him loose control of the steering wheel. Witnesses said that a Land Rover was also involved in the crash.
As you can see from these two images, the Ferrari 458 Italia has its airbags deployed too and the supercar might be in a total loss judging by its severe damages to the body work.
Sadly this is all the details we have on the Ferrari 458 Italia crash but as a reminder, the supercar is powered by a 4.5 liter V8 engine, shared with Maserati, which is developing a total output of 562 horsepower at 9.000 rom, with a peak torque of 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) at 6.000 rpm, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission similar to the one featured on the California.
UPDATE: Our readers are saying that the other vehicle involved in the crash was a BMW X3 so the witnesses obviously don’t know anything about cars. Thanks for the tip, guys!
