Ferrari has recently pulled the wraps off a special one-off 458 Italia, which is dedicated to Niki Lauda, the Formula One legend.
The Maranello based automaker Ferrari has managed to take everyone by surprise once more, this time with the help of a one-off version of the 458 Italia, which is dedicated to Formula One legend, Niki Lauda. The model in question has received a new livery, reference to the successful Ferrari F1 cars from the mid 70s, when Lauda was racing for the Italian team. The 458 Italian Niki Lauda is getting a white roof with a longitudinal Italian flag, gold alloy wheels, Italian flag motif on the seats and center tunnel and red stitching on the seats, steering wheel, dashboard and instrument panel.
Ferrari didn’t announce any performance details on the 458 Italia Niki Lauda Edition so our guess is that the model in question is still using the 4.5 liter V8 engine, which is still producing 562 HP (419 kW), at 9,000 rpm, and it has a peak torque of 540 Nm (398 lb-ft). The unit is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch GETRAG transmission, which is allowing the 458 Italia to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.3 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph).
