The Italian based automaker Ferrari is planning to introduce the Scuderia version of the 458 Italia, which should make its public debut in a couple of months, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The development of a brand new Ferrari 458 Scuderia isn’t a surprise for anyone, considering the fact that the Italian based carmaker hasn’t used the Scuderia name on a vehicle ever since the F430 was considered to be the hottest model produced in Maranello. The upcoming Ferrari 458 Scuderia is expected to drop approximately 100 kg (220 lbs) in its total weight, to 1,280 kg (2,822 lbs), thanks to the use of lightweight material and stripped out interior.
The Ferrari 458 Scuderia will receive an aerodynamic body kit, with larger air intakes in the front bumper, which will make it look more aggressive than the outgoing version. The 4.5 liter V8 engine is also expected to be modified in order to produce just over 600 HP (441 kW), thanks to the optimized ECU and to the sportier exhaust system. The Ferrari 458 Scuderia will be faster than the 458 Italia, which is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and to reach a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph).
