Ferrari is apparently planning to introduce the convertible version of the 458 Speciale later on this month, during the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The Ferrari lineup is about to be expanded with the addition of a new member, the 458 Speciale Spider. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet, but according to the guys from 4wheelsnews.com, the model in question will be officially presented to the public, in a world premiere, during the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, later on this month.
Our source is saying that Ferrari has already opened the order books for the new model and this is believed to be offered in a limited edition, just like the 430 Scuderia Spider, which has been created in just 499 units. The Ferrari 458 Speciale Spider will come with all the bits and pieces of the coupe version and it will be adding the solid folding roof.
Power will be provided by the same engine, the 4.5 liter V8, which will be producing a total output of 605 HP (445 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. The performance levels will be basically the same as in the coupe which means that the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint will take 3 seconds and top speed should stand at approximately 325 km/h (202 mph). Rumor has it that the supercar will be revealed on the 17th of August.
