The driver of a Ferrari 458 Spider has managed to crash his ride after trying to race a Porsche Cayman.
Supercars and the need for speed on public roads will usually make front pages as the driver of a Ferrari 458 Spider has recently found out. The 61-year old man has managed to ruin his ride while racing a Porsche Cayman. The Ferrari driver lost control of the wheel when he tried to overtake the German vehicle and hit a concrete wall. The incident took place in Oberusel, Germany. We’re not sure if he was injured but judging by the image posted above, we can say that he probably walked away unharmed.
The Ferrari 458 Spider is the drop-top version of the 458 Italia. The model in question has been officially introduced at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and it’s coming with an aluminum retractable hardtop, which weighs 25 kg less than a soft roof, like the one found on its predecessor, the F430 Spider. The Ferrari 458 Spider is taking its power from the same 4.5L V8 as the 458 Italia, which is good for 562 HP and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque.
