The aftermarket specialists at Hennessey have recently presented an upgrade program for the Ferrari 458 Italia / Spider which has received some impressive power boosts.
According to the tuning company, the Ferrari 458 Italia, or its drop top brother, the 458 Spider, has received features like the air to water intercooler system, the dual wastegates, the engine management calibration, custom oil and transmission lines, turbo downpipes, stainless steel exhaust system, twin ball bearing superchargers and upgraded fuel system, amongst others. Thanks to these tweaks, the Italian supercar can now produce a total output of 738 HP (543 kW) at 8,400 rpm and 720 Nm of torque (532 lb-ft), available at 5,600 rpm.
The figures mentioned above are quite impressive considering the fact that the standard supercar is “only” producing 562 HP at 9,000 rpm and 540 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Hennessey says that the modified Ferrari 458 Spider can now accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 2.8 seconds and to finish the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds, at a speed of 137 mph (220 km/h). The Italian supercar has also been fitted with a carbon fiber body kit, KW adjustable suspension, leather and carbon interior upgrades and monoblock wheels, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The power kit has been priced at 59,995 USD.
