A Ferrari 458 Spider supercar has been rear-ended by a Volkswagen Passat recently in China.
We have always said here on inautonews.com that where ever there will be exotic cars there will also be exotic car crashes and the latest example of such an unfortunate incident is coming all the way from China, where a Ferrari 458 Spider has definitely seen better days. According to the guys at Wrecked Exotics, the Italian supercar in question has been rear-ended by a Volkswagen Passat. The incident took place in China and judging by the images posted below, no one was seriously injured.
As a quick reminder, the Ferrari 458 Spider is the convertible version if the 458 Italia, the official replacement of the F430. The supercar is powered by a 4.5 liter V8 engine, the same one used on its solid roof brother. The unit is producing a total output of 570 HP, at 9,000 rpm, and it has a peak torque of 398 lb-ft, available at 6,000 rpm. Power is being sent to the rear-wheel drive through a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint in the 458 Spider takes 3.4 seconds.
