Ferrari 488 GTB debuts in Shanghai image

Ferrari has brought its newest supercar, the 488 GTB, to the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show.

The Ferrari 488 GTB is the facelifted version of the 458 Italia. The model in question has been already presented to the public more than a month ago, during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, and it is now making its Asian debut at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show. This is still getting the rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout and it is coming with improved carbon ceramic brakes derived from technology used in the LaFerrari hypercar. The design has increased downforce by 50 percent compared to the 458, reducing aerodynamic drag and the overall looks of the model make it instantly recognizable.

Ferrari has used a new 3.9 liter twin turbo V8 engine under the hood of the 488 GTB which is coming as a replacement for the previous 4.5 liter naturally aspirated V8. The unit is capable of producing a total output of 661 HP (493 kW) at 8,000 rpm and it has a peak torque of 760 Nm (561 lb-ft), available at 3,000 rpm. It has a 169.4 HP per liter and it is sending power to the rear-wheel drive through an automatic 7-speed dual clutch transmission. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the supercar needs just 3.0 seconds and it can reach 200 km/h (124 mph) in 8.3 seconds. The quarter mile is done in 10.45 seconds and top speed stands at more than 330 km/h (210 mph).
