Ferrari has announced the official introduction of the new 488 GTB in Australia.
Ferrari has pulled the wraps off the new 488 Spider and also announced the introduction of the 488 GTB in Australia, in the same day. According to the car manufacturer, the coupe version of the exotic vehicle has a starting price of 469,888 AUD, before on-road costs, and even if this may seem too steep, it is actually 55,500 AUD less than its predecessor, the 458 Italia. Ferrari says that the 488 GTB is more than a facelift of the 458 Italia as it is bringing 85 percent new parts. Its exterior design is slightly updated too and so is its cabin, putting a lot of distance between it and the previous version.
Notice the unique blown spoiler, the repositioned exhaust pipes, the larger diffuser, the lighter and more horizontally compact dashboard, the multi-function steering wheel and so on. The LED taillights have been redesigned too, a new wider front spoiler has been added and new air intakes can be seen. Under its hood, the 4.5 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine has been dropped for a new 3.9 liter V8 twin turbo unit, rated at 670 HP (493 kW) an 760 Nm (560 lb-ft) of torque. The rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout have been maintained and the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration now takes 3 seconds, with the top speed standing in at 330 km/h (205 mph).
