A silver finished example of the recently introduced Ferrari 488 GTB has been spotted on the roads recently in South Africa.
The Ferrari 488 GTB has been officially unveiled over the web back in early February and it was shown to future potential customers during a private event in Maranello. The supercar has made its public debut during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, just last week, and it is now returning in some new images which is showing it in the metal in South Africa. Rumor has it that this is a prototype which is actually undergoing its final testing.
The Ferrari 488 GTB is the official successor of the 458 Italia. The supercar is not a new generation but a facelift, and a big one, similar to what the carmaker did to the California and California T. This is coming with the same familiar design, which has been updated, and it has a wider front spoiler, a new diffuser, a bigger air intake, new LED taillights and several other tweaks.
The most important part of the supercar is under its hood where the 4.5 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine has been replaced by a new 3.9 liter twin turbo V8. This is producing a total output of 670 HP (493 kW) and it has a peak torque of 760 Nm (560 lb-ft), connected to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration is made in 3 seconds and top speed stands at 330 km/h (205 mph).
