A while ago, Ferrari’s boss Luca di Montezemolo assured us that the hybrid powertrains won’t make it to the Ferrari’s production models unit 2014. However, today’s news, have unveiled that Ferrari will launch a hybrid sooner that 2014.
First Ferrari hybrid will be most probably the 612 Scaglietti replacement. The hybrid Ferrari will be unveiled in 2011 Geneva Motor Show and most probably will be powered by the 550 hp V12 engine plus a 100 hp electric motor. So while it’s much more powerful, it will more efficient as well by 35 percent.
For those who don’t know, ferrari allready unveiled last year at geneva the 599 HY-KERS – a prototype that incorporates a roadgoing derivative of Ferrari’s Kinetic Energy Recovery System – fancy-talk for regenerative braking – from last year’s Formula One program.
