Ferrari is planning to introduce a more hardcore version of the F12 Berlinetta, a so-called F12 GTO, at the upcoming Frankfurt automotive event.
The 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show will see the debut of yet another Ferrari supercar. We are talking about the so-called F12 GTO which will be following the same footsteps as its predecessor, the 599 GTO, meaning that it will be a more hardcore version. The model hasn’t been confirmed officially at this time, but according to a recent report, published by GTSpirit, it will be implementing the HY-KERS system from its more impressive brother, the LaFerrari, and this will be translated into the extra oomph provided by its unit.
Keep in mind that the F12 Berlinetta is making use of the same 6.3 liter V12 petrol burner found on the Ferrari LaFerrari too, and not only, so the added HY-KERS system will not be an impossible job for the engineers working in Maranello. Rumor has it that the vehicle will be offering as much as 800 HP (588 kW) and this, compared to a significant weight loss of approximately 100 kg (220 lbs), will translate into a more impressive performance. Our source is stating that only 650 examples of the Ferrari F12 GTO will be put together and deliveries of the new supercar will begin in the second quarter of 2016. Additional details on the model are limited for the moment and will most likely be announced in Frankfurt.
