The Italian automaker has decided to take it to Paris with a retro livery, taking the wraps off the 488 GTB by Tailor Made in a bid to pay tribute to the 308 Gr4 Pioneer.
During this year’s edition of the Tour Auto Optic 2000 Ferrari has decided to also organize the French introduction of the GTC4Lusso at the Grand Palais. And while the FF replacement was supposed to be the star of the show, the spotlight was shared with a bespoke 488 GTB modified via Ferrari’s Tailor Made division in association with Parisian dealer Charles Pozzi. This unique 488 GTB started life as a nod to the blue & white livery made famous with the 308 Gr4 Pioneer driven by Jean Claude Andruet, a two-time winner of the Tour de France Auto (1981 and 1982). Completing the retro theme, the Tailor Made specialists also took the time to fit golden wheels and a matte black brake calipers set that also honor the 488 GTB’s ancestor.
The retro-modern spiritual connection is amplified inside the cockpit where the 488 GTB has eben fitted with red leather upholstery and a Grigio Corsa mat aluminum floor. The dashboard has black matte carbon accents and a line of Alcantara to spice things up. The Tailor Made unit has started life back in 2011 and has already showcased its customization prowess on numerous occasions, with special Ferraris touching every model in the line-up.
