The hardcore version of the impressive Ferrari LaFerrari, the LaFerrari XX as it is currently known, will be using a turbocharged V6 engine, once it will become available.
The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet but according to the guys at Top Gear, the new turbocharged V6 engine will be used instead of the standard 6.3 liter V12, which is rated at 789 HP (588 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. But if this seems like not enough for you, we didn’t mention the fact that the new unit is developed in Formula One.
The new Ferrari LaFerrari XX will be approximately as powerful as the regular hybrid supercar but it will be getting improved aerodynamics, a sportier suspension system, upgraded electronics and some racing tires, amongst others. Thanks to these modifications, the hardcore version of the LaFerrari will basically be faster than the road-going model, and this will be seen especially on tracks.
The regular Ferrari LaFerrari has been unveiled during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and it’s rivaling the McLaren P1 and the Porsche 918 Spyder, being the company’s first hybrid supercar and also the fastest production model ever. Power is coming from a 6.3L V8 and a HY-KERS unit, providing a total of 950 HP (708 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes less than 3 seconds and top speed stands at 350 km/h (217 mph).
