Ferrari plans 488 GTS for Frankfurt, 488 GTB Scuderia to follow it image

The roadster version of the Ferrari 488 GTB, the 488 GTS, is reportedly confirmed for the 2015th edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show, which will be opening its gates this September.

Ferrari is apparently planning to introduce the new 488 GTS at the 2105 Frankfurt Motor Show, this autumn. According to a recent report, the model in question is close to hitting the assembly line and it will be coming with the brand new 3.9 liter twin turbo V8 engine found on the 488 GTB, under its hood. This should remain at 670 HP (493 kW) and 760 Nm (560 lb-ft), and it is expected to be capable of reaching 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3 seconds, going up to a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph).

The Ferrari 488 GTS will gain some weight compared to the solid roof version and it will be coming with a foldable hardtop. The rest of the supercar will be identical to the current 488 GTB but things are about to change as the Italian based automaker is also planning to introduce the so-called 488 GTB Scuderia. This will be taking things to a whole new level and it will be losing some significant weight, probably be making use of carbon fiber and by dropping some of the features found in the cabin. An aggressive body style will also be made to the hardcore version, along with some tweaks made to the engine. The 488 GTB Scuderia is expected to come out after 2017.
