Ferrari has recently pulled the wraps off its latest creation, the one-off SP12 EC, commissioned by musician Eric Clapton.
After starting its life with some spy photos earlier this year, the Ferrari SP12 EC is once again being placed into the spotlights, this time by the Italian based automaker, which has officially unveiled it. According to Ferrari, the SP12 EC is a one-off model designed by the Centro Stile Ferrari, in a collaboration with Pininfarina and Maranello engineers, and the supercar has been commissioned by Eric Clapton, the famous musician. The automaker is also saying that the Ferrari SP12 EC has been based on the 458 Italia and it has been inspired by the 512 BB.
The Ferrari SP12 EC is powered by a 4.5 liter V8 engine which is developing a total output of 562 horsepower and it has a peak torque of 540 Nm (398 lb-ft). The unit is allowing the Italian supercar to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3.4 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 325 km/h (202mph). Unfortunately the Italian company didn’t say anything about the price paid by Eric Clapton for this one-off Ferrari SP12 EC, but when a car manufacturer is doing a one-off model for you, you know that whatever will happen, you will die a rich man.
