This is the Superamerica 45, a one-off Ferrari that will make its public debut at the Villa d’Este Concours in Italy this weekend.
At first glance it looks almost identical to the Ferrari SA Aperta, but it is in fact a one-off model inspired by the Ferrari 400 Superamerica of 1960s. It has the same Caribbean Blue exterior color which is also features on the rims.
The roof section, now made in carbonfibre (instead of the earlier car’s glass) and incorporating a rear screen, it swivels to retract under a carbonfibre boot. Engine-wise it should be similar to the 599 GTO which means it’s powered by a 670 hp V12 engine.
This magnificent event which in fairness is the best and most interesting car show all year will be held On the weekend of 20 – 22 May 2011, on the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este and neighbouring Villa Erba in Cernobbio on Lake Como, Italy.
