A Ferrari Testarossa, which has been driven by Michael Jackson in a Pepsi commercial, will be looking for a new owner at the Barrett-Jackson auction, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The black Ferrari Testarossa in question has been turned into a Spyder by R. Straman Company of Costa Mesa, California, for its television appearance, where Michael Jackson has driven it in a 1987 Pepsi commercial. This won’t be the only celebrity car at the 2014 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction because a 2008 Bugatti Veyron owned by Simon Cowell, or Paul Walker’s Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII, from 2 Fast 2 Furious, will also be offered for sale at the event.
The Ferrari Testarossa has been produced between 1984 and 1996, when it was replaced by the 550 Maranello. The model was being offered in a single 2-door coupe body style, with a rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout. Power was being provided by a 4.9 liter flat-12 engine, producing a total output of 390 HP (291 kW) at 6,300 rpm and 490 Nm (361 lb-ft) of torque at 4,500 rpm. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration took 5.3 seconds and top speed stood at 290 km/h (180 mph).
