Fiat has recently announced its plans to officially introduce a 1957 Edition of the 500 model, which wil make its public debut during the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, next week.
The Fiat 500 1957 Edition has been inspired from the original Cinquecento, or Nuova 500, and it’s based on the 500 Lounge. The model in question has received a retro exterior design, being available in three classic colors, Celeste (blue), Chiaro (green) and Bianco (white). The Fiat 500 1957 Edition is also getting a Bianco roof, a sport tuned suspension system and new 16-inch wheels, wrapped in all-season tires.
The cabin of the Fiat 500 1957 Edition hasn’t been left unchanged either as this is now getting the Marrone leather seats, a premium audio system, a leather wrapped steering wheel, some metallic accents and other tweaks, which should make it quite popular. Power to the vehicle is being provided by a 1.4 liter MultiAir engine, which is producing a total output of 101 HP (75 kW) and it has a peak torque of 132 Nm (98 lb-ft). The unit can be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or to an optional 6-speed automatic. The Fiat 500 1957 Edition will go on sale next spring. Pricing remains unknown.
